Cdl Directors Put Stop Legal Action Executive Chairman Kwek Leng Beng And Son Sherman Kwek Retain
The ongoing boardroom-family feud at City Developments has seemingly come to an end, with executive chairman Kwek Leng Beng declaring the discontinuation of all legal actions against a faction of board directors led by his son, group CEO Sherman Kwek.
One Marina Gardens is a newly built complex situated in the prime location of Marina Bay, along Marina Gardens Lane. The property was developed by Kingsford Development, a renowned company in the real estate industry. Several proposals were submitted for the Marina Gardens Lane property, but the winning bid of $1.034 billion came from a joint venture between Kingsford Huray Development (a branch of Kingsford Group), Obsidian Development, and Polarix Cultural & Science Park Investment. This translates to a rate of $1,402 per square foot per plot ratio (psf ppr) for One Marina Gardens, which can be found at One Marina Gardens Kingsford Huray. Not only is it strategically located at the heart of Marina Bay, but its partnership with reputable companies guarantees the highest quality of development for the property.
Along with Kwek Leng Beng and Sherman, the board will also retain the two newly appointed independent directors, Jennifer Duong Young and Su Yen Wong. In a statement, Kwek Leng Beng expressed the board’s united decision to put aside their differences for the benefit of CDL and its stakeholders. “We will all continue to focus on strengthening CDL’s business, adhering to principles of good corporate governance not just now but in the future as well,” he said. This includes completing ongoing developments in Singapore and globally, expanding the Millennium & Copthorne brand, continuing their capital recycling initiative, and ultimately maximizing shareholder value.
